The smart power box arrives wired and ready to go. Two cables connect it to the rest of the system: one from the solar panel, one to the smart switch box. Inside sits the solar control, battery storage and the EcoBrain that ties the whole system together, all in one lockable, weatherproof enclosure

1. The inverter and solar controller
This is what turns sunshine into usable power. A pure sine wave inverter and solar controller convert the energy coming in from the panel into clean, stable electricity for the heat pump. It runs only when the heat pump needs it, wasting nothing. Live solar input figures stream to the EcoBrain and app continuously, so you can see how much free energy you are generating by the minute, hour or day.

2. The batteries
Two LiFePO4 batteries bank up to 2.56kWh of stored energy. In practice that is enough to run the heat pump for over two hours and lift your water temperature by around 4 degrees. Built-in heating pads on the battery casing switch on automatically in freezing weather, protecting performance through winter without you having to do anything.

3. The EcoBrain
The EcoBrain is the onboard computer that keeps the whole system running at its best. It reads the battery level, checks hourly weather forecasts and picks the smartest moment to heat your tub. It also looks after the box itself, running cooling fans if the temperature inside rises and warming the batteries when it drops. Everything it knows is available on your phone, in real time.

The heat pump
This is where a lot of the efficiency savings come from. It delivers several times more heat per unit of electricity than the resistance heater your tub came with, which is the core reason the system cuts costs so dramatically. It ramps up gradually to protect the batteries, targets a comfortable 40°C and operates down to minus 15°C. A titanium heat exchanger resists corrosion, the unit is weather-rated to IPX4, runs on R32 refrigerant and is quiet enough that it will not trouble neighbours. The EcoBrain controls exactly when it switches on.

A low-draw pump moves water between the tub and heat pump using less power than a light bulb, quietly and consistently.

No need to drain. The kit includes plugs that let you disconnect the original pump while the tub stays full. Brand-matched fittings are supplied for your specific tub model. The pre-assembled insulated hose kit connects at both ends in under five minutes, with built-in check valves that protect the pump so it never runs dry. A short hose and clips reconnect your original pump for bubbles when you want them.

Mirrored stainless steel reflectors on the mounting base bounce ambient light onto the rear face of the panel, squeezing more energy from low winter sun, early mornings and late evenings when every watt counts. Will it work with my Lay-Z-Spa or inflatable spa?

Our initial focus is exactly that — existing inflatable spa and hot tub owners. The Conversion Kit is built to retrofit the tub you already own. Tell us your tub type when you enquire and we'll confirm fit.

Do I need to wire anything or hire an electrician?

No. The system is plug-and-play. Electrical boxes arrive sealed and tested, and connectors are labelled — you match labels rather than handle mains.

How much will it actually save me?

The system is designed to reduce running costs by using captured solar and an efficient heat pump in place of resistive heating. We're deliberately not quoting guaranteed savings — real figures depend on your tub, usage, location and the weather.

What's the difference between the kit and the complete system?

The Eco Conversion Kit upgrades a tub you already own. The Complete Eco Hot Tub System bundles the same energy system with a tub, liner and blower — ideal if you're starting from scratch.
